The Philippines can learn from this by making solar power more affordable and practical for households, businesses, and public institutions. The government has set ambitious renewable energy targets and supports solar through the Renewable Energy Act of 2008 and its net-metering program, which allows consumers to export excess electricity for credits. However, industry stakeholders continue to raise concerns about inconsistent permit requirements and slow approval processes across local governments, which discourage potential investors.
